This website forms part of the Valle de la Lengua Data Space (EDVAL) portal, promoted by the Foundation for the Transformation of La Rioja, and is intended to provide institutional, documentary, technical and operational information relating to the Data Space, its governance model, its participants, services, applicable documentation and communication channels.

This Legal Notice is made available to users in compliance with Law 34/2002 of 11 July on information society services and electronic commerce, as well as any other regulations applicable to the EDVAL website.

Access to and use of the portal confers the status of user and implies acceptance of the conditions set out in this Legal Notice, without prejudice to any specific conditions that may apply to certain services, functionalities, procedures for joining, participation or data exchange within the framework of EDVAL.

2. Purpose of the website

The EDVAL portal aims to facilitate access to information relating to the Data Space, including, amongst other things:

  • Institutional and descriptive information about EDVAL.
  • Documentation forming part of its Governance Framework.
  • Information on conditions of membership, participation and use.
  • Applicable policies, procedures, guidelines or documents.
  • Information on services, functionalities, the catalogue, resources or participation mechanisms.
  • Descriptive information, references, records or metadata associated with datasets, linguistic resources, data assets or services available within the EDVAL framework.
  • Channels for contact, support, communication and assistance for participants or interested parties.

The information published on the portal is of a general, descriptive and informative nature, unless expressly stated otherwise. In particular, the publication or consultation of descriptive information, catalogue records or associated metadata does not, in itself, imply the granting of rights of access, download, reuse, exploitation or exchange regarding such datasets or resources.

Effective participation in EDVAL, access to restricted services, data exchange, the downloading or use of datasets, or the use of certain resources shall be subject to acceptance of the Rulebook, the Membership and Participation Agreement, specific policies, technical, contractual or operational conditions, licences and other applicable documentation.

3. Terms of access and use

Access to the portal is generally free of charge. However, certain areas, services or features of EDVAL may be subject to registration, authentication, acceptance of specific terms and conditions, proof of participant status, or compliance with technical, legal, organisational or operational requirements set out in the EDVAL Governance Model.

The user undertakes to make appropriate, diligent, lawful and responsible use of the portal, its content and its services, refraining from any actions that may:

  • To breach applicable regulations, the principles of good faith, public order or the rights of third parties.
  • To compromise the availability, integrity, security or continuity of the website.
  • Introducing viruses, malicious code, programmes or elements that may alter, damage or interfere with systems, networks, data or content.
  • Accessing, attempting to access or using restricted areas, systems, services or information without proper authorisation.
  • Using the portal’s information for unlawful, fraudulent, deceptive or purposes contrary to those of EDVAL.
  • Downloading, extracting, compiling, reusing or exploiting on a mass, automated or unauthorised basis any content, records, metadata, datasets, resources or information available on the portal, unless such action is expressly permitted by EDVAL through a licence, terms of use, authorised technical channel or mechanism provided for that purpose.
  • Impersonating others, falsifying data or making unauthorised communications.

The entity responsible for the portal may take the necessary technical, organisational or legal measures to prevent, limit or stop misuse of the portal, without prejudice to any liability that may lie with the user.

4. Information published on the website

The Foundation for the Transformation of La Rioja will ensure that the information published on the portal is clear, up to date, accessible and consistent with the current EDVAL documentation.

However, the published information may be amended, updated, replaced or removed at any time, particularly where necessary for technical, legal, organisational or operational reasons, or due to changes to the Data Space itself.

5. Intellectual and industrial property

The contents of the website, including, but not limited to, texts, documents, designs, logos, trademarks, trade names, images, graphics, icons, videos, source code, navigation structure, databases and other elements eligible for protection, are the property of the Fundación para la Transformación de La Rioja or of third parties who have authorised their use, unless expressly stated otherwise.

Spanish intellectual property law protects original literary, artistic or scientific creations expressed by any means or medium.

The reproduction, distribution, public communication, adaptation, reuse or exploitation of the contents of the website is prohibited without the prior, express and written authorisation of the person or entity holding the rights, except in cases permitted by law or where the content is published under a licence permitting such uses.

The use of logos, trademarks, distinctive signs or identifying elements of EDVAL, the Foundation for the Transformation of La Rioja or third parties may not be made without the corresponding authorisation, unless it is necessary to legitimately identify the source of the information and provided that it does not imply confusion, improper association or detriment to their owners.

7. Liability

The Foundation for the Transformation of La Rioja will take reasonable steps to ensure the proper functioning, availability, security and updating of the website. However, it cannot guarantee the complete absence of interruptions, technical errors, availability failures, security incidents or occasional outdated information.
